FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves spraying aluminium or aluminium alloy melt with compressed gas containing up to 10 % oxygen at a nozzle pressure of 15-55 atm and a melt temperature of 700-800 C. Produced pulverizate, grain size up to 1500 microns, is classified on screen into a fraction with grain size less than 1000 microns. Then a 0-50-micron fraction is separated on sieve with 005 mesh. Powder of said fraction is pressed, adding 0.5-3 % of aluminium and zinc stearate. EFFECT: method reduces explosion hazard during delivery of powder for pressing, improves properties of powder and raises the quality of sintered articles. 1 tbl
