FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-dispersity powders with high specific surface that can be used in pyrotechnics, chemistry, power engineering, and electronics. Powder containing spherically- shaped particles further contains distorted-shape powders in amounts from 10 to 50 wt.%, the former having specific surface 0.15-0.6 sq.m/g and the latter 0.5- 4 sq.m/g. In addition, powder contains up to 50% of inert liquid, for instance hydrocarbons. In proposed method including compressed gas-assisted pulverization of melt, fineness separation, and grinding of a part of powder, fine fraction of spherical powder obtained after separation is mixed with distorted-shape powder obtained after grinding of a part of powder, mixing operation being performed in presence of steel balls or aluminum granules in inert gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon medium at solids-to-liquid ratio at least 1: 1, while percentage of steel balls or aluminum granules constitutes, on mixing, 10 to 30% of the weight of mixed powders. Thus obtained powders have high specific surface, preferably higher than 0.8-1.0 sq.m/g. EFFECT: increased specific surface of powders. 6 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
