FIELD: fabricating heat and sound insulating noise-proof panels. SUBSTANCE: homogenized mass delivered from dosing apparatus is supplied to a preforming unit on a forming belt of the type used in paper-making. The belt serves subsequently for fixing and dehydrating the mass which is pressed and preformed on the belt. Preformed panels are transported by the belt to be removed from the preforming facilities. The panel is fed into a tunnel kiln for two-sided treatment and in operation hot air is very evenly forced onto both the sides of the panel dried at a temperature of 185 - 200 C. Preforming is completed in one operation at a pressure ranging from 1.1 to 4.0 kg/sq cm. Before drying the panel has a relative humidity of 65 - 75 percent. When dried the panel is directed to a two-sided calibrating and fluffing machine. EFFECT: higher quality of panels, reduced consumption of labour. 3 dwg
