FIELD: control of underground fires. SUBSTANCE: introduced is additional indicating gas in control hole drilled to point under maximum concentration of fire gases. Anomaly is found by this gas in layer near surface. Line is drawn through points of introduction of indicating gas and its maximum content in layer near surface. Center of fire seat is determined on extension of line drawn from point of indicating gas introduction to side opposite from occurred anomaly at distance equal to interval between points of introduction of indicating gas and found maximum concentration of this gas in layer near surface. Used as indicating gas is sulfur hexafluoride. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
