SUBSTANCE: ring-shaped reservoirs 4 have the form of toruses open over inside diameter while vertical cylindrical column 1 is made of toruses placed on one another, the uppermost torus 3 being used as reservoir for nutrient solution or water while side holes 2 are equispaced around the perimeter of each torus 4. Each torus has wick 5 and uppermost one is connected with each wick 5 by water-distributing pipes 6 and has drain holes. Column 1 has screen cylinder 8 inside. Volume between toruses 4,3 and screen cylinder 8 is filled with compost.
