FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method provides for metal feeding in crystallizer, drawing ingot out of it with changed speed, giving crystallizer reciprocal motion and frequency change and motion amplitude of crystallizer. To improve quality of ingot continuous casting and to increase stability of crystallizer reciprocal motion mechanism amplitude of crystallizer reciprocal motion is determined from formula A = B - (0.6-0.1) x (F-f) with: A - crystallizer reciprocal motion amplitude, mm; B - crystallizer reciprocal motion amplitude with frequency f≅ 150 r/min and B = 10 - 116 mm; f - constant frequency of crystallizer reciprocal motion with amplitude B = 10 - 16 mm, f≅ 150 r/min, F - crystallizer reciprocal motion frequency F> 150 r/min; (0.06 - 0.1) - empirical factor, depending on section of casting ingot, (mm x min)/Hz, in the case A≥ 2.0 mm; F≅ 300 r/min.
