FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of metal continuous casting comprises steps of feeding metal into a mold, drawing an ingot from the mold with a variable speed and measuring temperature of working walls of the mold a length and a perimeter of the ingot with aid of thermocouples at least in two levels along the length of the ingot, being in the mold, spaced by a distance, equal respectively to (0.7-1.0) and (1.4-2.2) of the thickness of the ingot from a meniscus of the metal; determining a time moment of temperature increase of the working walls of the mold in an upper level of measuring by 10-25% of an operating value, and in a time period, equal to l/vp, determining a time moment of temperature increase in a lower level; decreasing a speed of the ingot drawing by 10-60% of its operating value, if the temperature increase in the lower level coincides the temperature increase in the upper level; l- a distance between the levels of measuring temperature of working walls of the mold, m; vp an operating value of speed of ingot drawing, m/min.
