FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of continuous metals casting provides for metal feeding in crystallizer, drawing ingot out of it with changing speed, giving crystallizer reciprocal motion, feeding layer of slag mixture on to meniscus of metal in crystallizer, crystallizer working walls cooling by running water, under crystallizer ingot surface cooling by cooler and measurement of crystallizer working walls body temperature along length and perimeter of ingot by thermocouples. During continuous casting temperature of crystallizer working walls along length of ingot, placed in crystallizer, is measured at least on two levels, at distance accordingly of 0.2 - 0.3 and 0.35 - 0.5 from meniscus of metal in crystallizer and with step along ingot perimeter, equaled to 0.3 -1.2 of its thickness. In case of increasing of lower level reading of temperature up to 50 - 95 % from temperature reading at upper level even at one step of measurement along ingot perimeter, frequency of crystallizer reciprocal motion is to be increased by 5 - 20 % over its working reading. In case of lower level temperature reading decreasing to 6 - 49 % from upper level temperature reading, frequency of crystallizer reciprocal motion is to be decreased to its working reading.
