FIELD: continuous casting of metals in apparatus with curved processing line. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying metal to crystallizer; withdrawing ingot from crystallizer with variable speed by means of idler and drive rollers; forming ingot initially on straight vertical section of processing line, then on section, where ingot is bent from vertical position to radial position, continuing to form it on radial section of processing line, then bending it out from radial to straight horizontal position on straight section of processing line; imparting crystallizer and rollers, positioned on vertical straight section of processing line, reciprocating motion with variable amplitude and at variable voltage. Apparatus has crystallizer and vertical straight roller section attached to crystallizer bottom end, curved ingot bending roller section, radial roller section, curved ingot bending out roller section, horizontal straight roller section, with all sections mentioned being positioned in succession, mechanism for imparting reciprocating motion to crystallizer and roller section, rollers mounted in bearing bodies and frames carrying bearing bodies.
