FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: the product: phenylalkylamines of the general formula: C6H5CH2CH(R1)NH(R2) (1) wherein R1 is straight or branched C2-C8-alkyl, C7-C10-phenylalkyl, C3-C8-cycloalkyl, phenyl; R2 is C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C8- alkyl substituted with a halogen atom, hydroxy or alkoxy containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; alkyl containing 3 carbon atoms and substituted with phenyl; C3-C8 cycloalkyl provided that R1 and R2 together contain at least 5 carbon atoms, and in the case when is ethyl; R1 cannot be isobutyl, or salts of these compounds. Reagent 1: an amine of the general formula: R2 (2) wherein C6H5CH2CH(R1)NH2 is as defined above. Reagent 2: R1 (3) wherein X is halogen, a sulfonic acid ester residue; XCH(R3)R4 is hydrogen, R3-alkyl, C1-C7-alkyl substituted with a halogen atom, hydroxy or alkyl containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkyl containing 2 carbon atoms substituted with phenyl; C1-C7 is hydrogen or R4 and R3 and R4 are alkyl provided that they together contain not more than 5 carbon atoms or R3-R4 together with CH can form a cycloalkyl ring containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms. Reaction conditions: in the presence of an acid binding agent such as an excess amount of an amine, an organic or inorganic base or an alkaline ion exchanger followed, if necessary, by conversion of the compound of the formula (1) into a salt.
