FIELD: substituted amine derivatives of the formula 1: R₁-NHCO(X₁)CH(R₃CH₂)-N(A-Y)-CH₂CH(R₄)NHCO(X₂)-R₂ have antiarrhythmic activity wherein R₁ end R₂ are each lower alkyl; R₃ end R₄ are each hydrogen or lower alkyl; A is a carbon chain having two or more carbon atoms which may form a cyclic or aromatic ring; X₁ end X₂ are each an oxygen or sulfur atom; Y is a phthalimic group. SUBSTANCE: a compound of the formula 1 is prepared by reacting a compound of the formula 11: R₁-NHCO(X₁)CH(R₃CH₂)-N(A-OH)-CH₂CH(R₄)NHCO(X₂)-R₂ with phthalimide. EFFECT: improved properties of the amine derivatives.
