FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this novel device employs principle of amplitude-frequency analysis of vibrations in region of sacrum dorsal surface in unit- and bi-rest standing posture, determination of spectrum power within frequency band of up to 12 Hz and over and defining extent of stability of vertical posture based on result of comparison of spectrum power recorded in above frequency bands with normal standard. Should power measured in one of the tests exceed standard level in at least one of frequency ranges, vertical posture is considered as unstable. EFFECT: high accuracy of determining stability of vertical posture; possibility of revealing and quantitatively assessing physiological mechanisms that help maintain stable vertical posture.
