FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of articles from carbon-carbon composite materials (CCCM) and is intended for use in chemical, chemical-metallurgical, as well as in aviation and space industries. Method of making articles from CCCM includes making a preform based on carbon fibres, impregnating the preform with a solution of a pre-catalyst for growing carbon nanotubes in the form of a transition metal salt, drying the preform, carbon nanotubes are grown therein and saturated with pyrocarbon by vacuum isothermal method. Cultivation of carbon nanotubes in the preform and its saturation with pyrocarbon is carried out in a single technological process at atmospheric pressure at temperature of 750-800 °C in a methane medium with holding for 10-48 hours immediately after drying the preform at temperature of 80-100 °C. In a preferred version of the method, prior to saturation of the preform with pyrocarbon, heating and holding for 1-3 hours at 900-920 °C in a mixture of methane and argon, taken in volume ratio of 0.4:1.0.
EFFECT: shorter cycle of making articles from CCCM without reducing their strength characteristics.
