SUBSTANCE: method involves inserting additional light guide, its connection to main light guide, generation of diffraction grating in field of characteristic wave of additional light guide. Light beam enters main light guide through diffraction grating and additional light guide. Profile of refractive index of additional light guide conform to feature that resonant angles of each mode of TE or TM polarization coincides with angles that correspond to maximums of direction pattern of diffraction grating for given angle of incidence of light beam. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities.
