FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparation of charge by mixing powders of oxides of rate-earth metals and calcium-silicon, charge pressing and caking and adding calcium fluoride to the charge with the following proportion of components: powder of oxides of rare-earth metals - 10-15 mass/per cent, powder of calcium-silicon - 20-8- mass/per cent, plus calcium fluoride (the remaining portion). Up to 80 percent of obtained charge is caked at a temperature of 25-890 C, 10-80 per cent - at a temperature of 900-1100 C, 10-85 per cent - at a temperature of 1110-1250 C, and the caked pieces of work are then put together. EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability. 3 tbl
