FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: by means of the blank deformation the wall of the perimeter is made with at least one axial fragment of high accuracy as to form and fitting. This accuracy is achieved owing to the fact that sheet material brought into the plastic state before the perimeter wall appearance is subjected to upsetting in separate places of the perimeter. Then the squeezed places are subjected to calibration. In the process of upsetting the axial force of different magnitude influences each zone of the flange upsetting. In the process of stretching radially directed contraction forces influence several axial fragments of the formed lateral wall at least from the side of one of its surfaces. In the device for the method realization the clamp or the matrix are made with radial groove-shaped notches on the surfaces facing each other. These notches are located along the circumference with a gap, are adjacent to the working hole of the matrix or the clamp and are open from the side of the mentioned hole. The punch and the matrix are made with profiled facing each other surfaces with calibrating sections. The mentioned sections can be made as profile axial notches on the lateral lying opposite surfaces of the punch or the matrix whose bottom part forms the working surface or as profile axial ribs on the lateral lying opposite surfaces of the punch or the matrix and are located at least on a part of the mentioned surfaces. The cross-section of the axial rib profile can be trapezoidal, acute-angled, obtuse-angled or have a rounded-off form. The clamp or the matrix are equipped with insets movable in the axial direction and located in the zones of the radial notches with the possibility of controlling the curve in the axial direction. The clamp is made constituent of the outer and inner ring parts; the last of them is movable in the axial direction, overhangs the outer part and has a profiled working surface curved and rounded off from the punch side in the radial cross-section.
