FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: systolic and diastolic arterial pressures in lying and standing positions are measured and values of average dynamic arterial pressure in these positions are calculated. The disease is diagnosed as hypertensive if the factual average arterial pressure in standing position exceeds the normal value estimated according to the formula A=0.37. B+69.06, where A is the normal value of the average arterial pressure in standing position, mm of mercury, and B is the factual value of the average arterial pressure in lying position, mm of mercury. EFFECT: simplification of diagnosing the early stages of hypertensive disease.
