FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: threshold of saline sensitivity is determined followed by acute saline peroral test. Before and after the test, examination is made of the cardiac index, minute blood volume, working capacity indices; the values of arterial pressure, heart beat rate, volume of work done. The sum of relative diagnostic indices is estimated; if its value exceeds +0.2, the vasoconstrictor type of hypertensive disease is diagnosed; if the value is less than -0.2, it is the aqueous-saline type. Before the acute saline peroral test, the threshold of saline sensitivity is determined. EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the hypertensive disease type. 5 tbl
