SUBSTANCE: hand hoist has hangers 2, housing 1 with shaft 3 inside on which drum 4 with flexible traction member 3 is installed, and friction brake. Friction brake has at least one spring-loaded disk 6 installed for axial travel on shaft 3 and forming a friction pair with housing 1. Rod 12 is installed for axial travel inside shaft 3. One end of rod engages with disk 6. Fitted for rotation on shaft 3 is bushing 13. Retainer 15 installed in diametric slot of bushing on axle engages with its shaped working surface with second end of rod 12. Fitted also on shaft 3 is ring gear 16 engaging with retainer 15 when it turns on axle of bushing. Handle can be connected to retainer 15. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 2 cl, 2 dwg
