SUBSTANCE: a slag containing dicalcium silicate and calcium fluoride in a 5-7: 1 ratio is applied to the surface of a metal melt and the metal is treated with calcium in an amount which is 1.2-2 times larger than the sum of impurities of tin, sulfur, phosphorous and carbon in steel and in titanium intended for smelting purposes.
