FIELD: electrical engineering; low-voltage circuit breakers. SUBSTANCE: circuit breaker has insulated housing 1, movable contact 2 and fixed contacts 4,5 in each pole, arc control chambers 6,7, insulating partition 8 with holes 9 adjacent to output of chamber 7, electromagnetic overcurrent release with U-shaped magnetic circuit 10 and spring-loaded armature 12, disconnecting rack 15, latch 16 and trip free mechanism 17. Armature 12 made in form of plate is installed in insulated housing 1 for rotation around point 13 opposite to arc control chamber 7. One side of armature points to insulating partition 8 with holes 9 adjacent to output of arc control chamber 7 and other side of armature is pointed to end faces of U-shaped magnetic circuit 10. Design of electromagnetic release is simplified owing to use of simple components and reduced number of components, and quick response is provided owing to use of gauge pressure built when electric arc appears in case of short circuit fault; excessive pressure is transmitted directly to armature, and in second design version, through insulating plate, to release armature.
