FIELD: decontamination of waste water. SUBSTANCE: biofilter charge includes flat porous member secured in rigid frame and made of redox material having highly developed branched open porous structure in the form of polygonal plates or discs. Ratio between total pore surface area and total area of flat porous member surface is Sporesurf:Sflatmemb.surf= (2-3)×10 and ratio of flat porous member thickness to its greater characteristic dimension is δ:a = 0,05-0,15 : a = 0.05 to 0.15, where Sporesurf represents total surface area of pores in flat porous member, Sflatmemb.surf denotes total flat porous member surface area, δ stands for flat porous member thickness, and a signifies greater characteristic dimension of flat porous member. Rigid frame is composed of interconnected casing and cover having openings in all its facets. Flat porous member is disposed in frame for being pressed against casing supporting pads. Both frame casing and cover are provided with peripheral flanges in their lower portions, with flexible spacer being sandwiched in between flanges of frame casing and cover. Polygonal plates may be shaped as rectangle, square, triangle, trapeze, rhomb, and hexagon or octagon and discs may be made in the form of circle, semi-circle, and circle sector or segment. Discs may further be made in the form of ellipse, parabola, hyperbola, lemniscate, and spherical body or ring. EFFECT: provision of highly developed surface to overgrow with biofilm. 5 cl, 19 dwg
