FIELD: biological purification of sewage water. SUBSTANCE: biological filter charge has volumetric porous members making cleaning layer with through channels in through-type or cellular container. Container is formed as volume-carcass module composed of poles, which are interconnected through cross-bar with their upper portion and through bottom with their lower portions. Cross-bar has longitudinal and cross power members and bottom has longitudinal and cross power beams with clearances between them. Container has cover mounted for biasing porous members in cleaning layer one towards the other in cleaning layer and towards bottom. Porous members are made from redoxide in the form of polygon or body of rotation or combined polygons and bodies of rotation, with open pore area per one cubic meter of cleaning layer and cleaning layer surface area ratio being within predetermined range. Cover of through-type container has ribs and resilient gaskets, which are secured to lower ends of ribs. Bottom of container is Provided with ribs, which are attached to longitudinal and cross power beams so that clearances are defined between them. Cellular container is further provided with walls defined by a set of longitudinal and cross wires and rods. Cover and bottom are also made from a set of wires and rods. Cover is pivotally attached to power cross beam of cross bar through one beam and has locking mechanism disposed at side opposed to above mentioned attachment side.
