FIELD: organic chemistry, fluorinated hydrocarbons. SUBSTANCE: synthesis of high-fluorinated alkane is carried out by fluorination with one molar equivalent of HF of a single halogen-olefin or halogen-hydrocarbon: CCl₂=CCl₂, CHCl=CCl₂, CH₂CCl₂, CCl₃-CHCl₂, CF₂Cl-CHCl₂, CCl₃-CH₂Cl, CHCl₂-CHCl₂, CCl₃-CH₃ in the presence of catalyst - TaF₅ taken at concentration 0.25 mole equivalent, not less, at ratio control: (5x + y)/z which is equal or less than (6-w), where x - catalyst moles; y - HF moles; z - initial halogenated compound moles; w - number of fluorine atoms in one mole of initial compound.
