FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding portions of melting stock materials to filling surface by rotating distributor for leveling filling surface, determination of sector and circular zones of circumference of furnace mouth where there are positive deviations of level of filling relative to average level and preliminary increase of angle of opening melting stock gate to an angle of 70 per cent from "garage" position nearer to this zone. Passage of distributor through the sector is followed by return of angle of opening of the gate to the initial position. EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability. 1 dwg
