FIELD: construction of embankments of railways, motor roads, and hydraulic engineering earthworks. SUBSTANCE: method involves repeatedly recurring sequence of operations, viz., laying rail tracks by track layer on the embankment construction site, piling up a layer of earth brought in by railway transport on the tracks, disassembling the tracks on the back run of the track layer, pulling out rail lengths from under the piled up material and removing them from the piled up layer on the track layer platform, levelling and compacting the embankment material with non-rail means of mechanization. EFFECT: higher efficiency of compacting the multilayer embankment by levelling and compacting the layerwise laid material of embankment with the aid of non-rail means of mechanization. 2 cl, 5 dwg
