FIELD: nuclear physics; physics of solid body. SUBSTANCE: polarizer is formed by polished substrate, polarizing covering and anti-reflecting coating; all the units are disposed along the path of incident radiation. Substrate is made of silicon which is transparent for neutrons. Polarizing covering is made in form of single layer or alternating layers of magnetic and non-magnetic materials, which have bound wavelength being close to boundary wavelength of the substrate for negative spin state neutrons. Anti-reflecting covering is preferably made of material, which has real part of interaction potential with neutron is close to real part of potential of interaction of neutron with the substrate. Neutron absorber is a part of the material. Neutron absorber has no resonance in thermal spectral range. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 2 cl, 4 dwg
