FIELD: illuminating equipment, applicable in production of glass for construction, in displays. SUBSTANCE: polarizer has a bed and a layer dichroically absorbing electromagnetic radiation and located between two reflecting coatings. Materials and thicknesses of the layer dichroically absorbing electromagnetic radiation and of the reflecting coatings are selected proceeding from the condition of obtaining of the interference minimum at the outlet of the dichroic polarizer for the absorbed component of electromagnetic radiation at least for one wavelengths. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency due to enhanced degree of radiation polarization at a high transmission or reflection factor for non-absorbable component. 6 cl, 3 dwg
