FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tests of large capacity asynchronous motors with squirrel-cage rotors, arc start and disc motors. Gear has first drive motor mechanically coupled to second load generator which stator winding phases are connected to proper terminals of electric connection unit. First leads-out of armature winding of first drive motor and first load generator are connected to common bus and their second leads-out are interconnected. Tested motor is linked up to second load generator via mechanical coupling unit. First drive motor is linked up to second drive motor via second mechanical coupling unit. To start gear voltage is in sequence fed to excitation winding and armature winding of second drive motor. As a result of it and first drive motor and second load generator linked up to it are set in rotation. Transfer to required testing mode is conducted by control over excitation of first and second load generators, of first and second drive motors. EFFECT: reduced losses of power and increased accuracy of tests. 1 dwg
