FIELD: mechanical engineering; apparatuses for dissolving air oxygen in water. SUBSTANCE: rotary aerator incorporates casing which houses hollow shaft held in bearings. Lower end of hollow shaft is connected to aerator rotor and its upper end is connected to air blower provided with working compressor blades mechanically connected to hollow shaft and birotatory electric motor having stator and rotor, providing drive to shaft and positioned above hollow shaft and coaxially with latter. Air blower is inward-flow compressor including inner and outer working wheels made revolvable in opposite directions. Inner working wheel is composed of two coaxial and spaced discs having concentrical rows of cantilevered blades facing one another. Discs are rigidly interconnected by means of first inner row of blades common to both discs of which one is connected to electric motor shaft and the other having central opening is connected to upper end of hollow shaft. Outer working wheel is shaped as intermediate disc sandwiched in between discs of inner working wheel and having on its both sides concentric rows of cantilevered blades positioned between rows of blades of inner working wheel, intermediate disc being linked to electric motor stator by virtue of first outer row of its baldes.
