FIELD: mechanical engineering; apparatuses for dissolving air oxygen in water. SUBSTANCE: aerator includes casing which houses hollow shaft supported by bearings. Lower end portion of hollow shaft is connected to aerator rotor and its upper end portion is linked to air blower. Aerator is further provided with birotatory electric motor which has stator, rotor and shaft and is disposed coaxially with and above hollow shaft. Air blower is constructed in the form of inward-flow compressor that includes two oppositely revolving working wheels in the form of two coaxial and spaced discs having concentric rows of cantilevered blades on respectively opposite sides. Rows of blades of one disc are sandwiched in between rows of blades of other disc. One disc is mounted on electric motor shaft whereas other one having central opening is secured to end portion of hollow shaft and its peripheral blades are connected to electric motor stator. Bladed guide vanes linked to aerator casing may be positioned at air blower inlet. EFFECT: more sophisticated design. 1 dwg
