FIELD: chemistry; methods of isolating silver from iron. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in dissolving cinders resulted from process of roasting silver-containing concentrates, mattles, anode sludges or compound alloys, conducting sorption of silver from solutions, and carrying out leaching step using polystyrene sulfide sorbent and recovery of desired product using thiourea and sulfuric acid. Further steps are subjecting desilverized sorption raffinate to precipitation of nonferrous metals by treating it with lime milk to pH value of 7 to 8, separation of hydroxides of nonferrous metals, evaporating mother liquor, and recovery of nitric acid by treating solution with strong sulfuric acid. EFFECT: ecologically safe low-waste technique of reprocessing silver-containing compound products.
