FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves adding 0.008 ml of blood to 0.02 ml of echinococcous liquid, incubating it for 2 h at 37 C and introducing 0.9 ml of isotonic solution of sodium chloride. Then the mixture is centrifuged for 10 min at 1500 rpm and potassium content is determined in supernatant liquid. If the content of potassium is 45% and over as compared with antigen-free control, echinococcosis is diagnosed. Accuracy of diagnosing echinococcosis is increased by 6.2%.
