FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: backing 1 is set in rotation. Simultaneously, device 2 for layerwise delivery of powder material made in the form of a hopper with bottom outlet hole, installed above the backing, coats said backing with a layer of material which is selectively baked under the effect of energy flow from source 3 of concentrated energy flow, e.g. a laser. Layer 4 of the material delivered onto the backing takes the form of a ring whose width depends on the size of the inlet hole of device 2. Selective baking is effected by programmed displacement of the energy flow which provides for making articles of desired configuration. As the material is delivered and baked, the backing moves gradually down. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 1 dwg
