METHOD TO IDENTIFY HOMOGENEOUS SURFACE ON THE BASE OF CHARACTERISTICS OF REFLECTED LIGHT DETECTION SIGNAL Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: measuring equipment. SUBSTANCE: method to identify homogeneous surface on the base of characteristics of reflected light detection signal is based on comparing macrostructure face size with light spot size in the point of sounding. Light ray coordinate, displacement, as well as reflected signal amplitude are measured for not less than three points being not located on the same line. Distance between the points are selected on the base of spatial noncrossing light fluxes, and the totality of measurements is performed twice for similar conditions, but for different areas of light spot on the surface. A magnitude equal to multiplication of reflected signal amplitude by square distant to the point of measuring is calculated for any point of measuring. Relation of dispersions of the magnitude calculated for any totality of measurements is determined. Decision on the type of surface being identified is made on the basis of proximity this relation S1/S2 to unity. Where S1/S2 is area of regions lighted with irradiated signal for the first and second totality of measurements. EFFECT: wider confidence limits when identifying homogeneous surface. 5 dwg
