FIELD: electronics. SUBSTANCE: electrostatic generator has an electric charge carrier including a carrying dielectric (a band) with electrodes fixed across its length, drive and conducted shafts, charging unit and current-collecting device. In order to increase the charging current, to simplify the design and to enhance the reliability of the generator, the cylindrical metallic surface of the drive shaft is covered along its whole length with a layer of the dielectric whose surface in its turn is covered with a metallic layer separated from the drive shaft. On the outer surface of the conveyer belt packets of electrodes are fixed separately from each other. They are electrically connected between themselves and separated from each other on the band surface. One electrode is fixed on the inner surface of the band which comes in contact with the metallic surface of the drive shaft to which the charging unit is connected and of the conducted shaft to which the current-collecting device is switched on. The generator is used in electrostatic accelerators. EFFECT: increased charging current, simpler design and enhanced reliability of the generator. 1 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
