FIELD: optical recording and playback of information. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in photography, in thin-film meters of light radiation dosage. Film medium made of chalcogenide glass is exposed to recording optical radiation with different required lengths of waves. Energy of radiation quanta is greater or equal to width of prohibited zone of material of medium. Simultaneously material of medium is subjected to chemical etching to required change of thickness of information sections. While playing back information light signals with wave lengths different from those of playback radiation reflected from information sections of medium are registered.
