FIELD: protection of human body against injuries. SUBSTANCE: armor vest is composed of front and back parts in the form of cloth cases with system of fastening members and protective members built into these cases. Protective members include multilayer power base and metal plates which are installed in internal pockets of cloth case directly behind power base along direction of hit. Plates are manufactured from aluminium alloy with relative elongation δ=18-23%. Power base is fabricated from 22-26 layers of synthetic high-module cloth, quilting stitches are spaced by 4-8 cm from each other, over entire perimeter there are made from 1.5 to 3 stitches per centimeter. Base is placed into air-tight plastic packet. Cloth cases are provided with internal underlayer of soft hygroscopic material and textile fasteners. Ratio of thicknesses of cloth power base and metal plates from 2:1 to 5:2 with thickness of cloth power being 4-5 mm. Cloth of power base has elasticity modulus from (3-5)·104 to (2-4)·106 kgf/cm2.
