POLARIMETER FOR MEASURING BLOOD SUGAR CONCENTRATION Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: optical instrument engineering. SUBSTANCE: polarimeter has a light source, diaphragm, collimator, light filter, focusing lens, simple and compound polarization filters, cuvette with medium to be investigated interposed between the two filters. The compound polarization filter is made in the form of two aligned abutting portions of polarization filters and is mounted on the armature of a vibrator, their transmission planes being disposed orthogonal to each other and at an angle of plus 45 degrees and of minus 45 degrees with respect to the same of simple polarization filter. The device furthermore has a photodetector, amplifier, comparison unit, regulating element, power supply source, telescopic system. The device is characterized in that immediately before the cuvette the telescopic system is situated, and the polarization compound filter with electromagnetic vibrator are mounted before the cuvette as well in the focal plane of telescopic system so that in a rest state of the vibrator the center line of a projected image of the diaphragm coincides with the abutment line of the portions of the compound polarization filter.
