TONGUELESS SWITCH Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: tongueless switch has twin turnout rails 3,4, each connected by one end on slewing circle and by other end coupled with rod 13 of shifter mechanism. Switch has also device to fix twin turnout rails relative to straight track rail 1 and to release them. Fixing device is formed by horizontal disks 22 and 23 installed on vertical axles, guides 14, 37 and 38 some of which are secured on base at both sides at end of straight track rail 1 and others, on outer sides of twin rails 3,4, stops 17 and 18 adjoining straight track rail 1, and pushers 41 and 42. Shifter mechanism rod 13 is coupled with stop by means of hinge-connected lever. Stop limits travel of rod and provides beginning of travel of twin rails.
