FIELD: construction, road construction, railways.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to railway transport and is designed for use in construction of branching railways. The non-string pointer of a point switch consists of two pairs of switch rails, attached to joining rails with provision for end gaps, sufficient for turning of the switch rails around the primary junction by an angle, providing for switching of the pointer from one direction to the other. The switch rails have a lower profile compared to the joining rails, and for the whole length, they are supported by a solid undercarriage made from a steel sheet with thickness equal to the difference in heights of the joining and switching rails, in such a way that, the ends of the undercarriage are supported at the edges of the joining rails. The technical outcome is the increased reliability and efficiency of the pointer due to elimination of all effects of track displacement force on the sizes of the gaps, so as to prevent failures related to track displacement.
EFFECT: increased reliability and efficiency of the pointer.
