FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves taking samples, determining chemical composition and structure of fracture before pouring, comparing the received data with preset reference values and, should they correspond to said reference values, pouring out the metal to a certain amount of liquid melt remaining in the crucible. Corrosion rate is determined additionally before pouring by H2 in a 3-% solution of sodium chloride, then samples are taken in the course of pouring for determining the zirconium content and corrosion rate. Pouring is discontinued when the zirconium content and corrosion rate exceed by not more than 1.5 times the values of these parameters before pouring. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
