FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to alloys metallurgy and can be used in production of heat-resistant, high-strength and special magnesium alloys containing rare-earth metals (REM), zinc, zirconium, etc. Method of cast magnesium-zirconium alloys producing containing REM, includes melting of charge in protective gas environment in flux-free mode, alloying, refining and casting melt into mold, wherein after alloying melt is treated with carbon fluoride compounds in amount of 1-4 g of carbon per 100 kg of melt at 770-850 °C for 3-10 minutes, wherein during molten metal processing tis degassing is performed, and prior to melt pouring into mold it is blown with sulphur hexafluoride.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce molten metal oxidation during melting and casting, reducing REM losses, increase purity, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of casts.
