FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: strain gauge has strain sensitive element 3, heating element 6 and thermosensitive element 7; all the units are connected with commutator 11 and measurement duct measuring converter 12. Strain gauge is mounted onto construction under test and measurement equipment is connected with it. Measuring duct is calibrated. The gauge is subjected to thermal-power effect when applying preset power current pulse to heating element 6 from measuring converter 12. Resistance of the gauge is measured from the signal of strain sensitive element 3. Construction under test is subjected to single-time power effect of exploitation loads and resistance of the gauge is measured additionally. Deformation of the construction is determined from the dependence of gauge resistance on values of thermal-power effect and power effect of exploitation loads. EFFECT: improved precision of measurement. 2 cl, 3 cl, 2 dwg
