FIELD: conversion of thermal energy into electric one. SUBSTANCE: invention suggests use of polymorphic alloys based on iron undergoing phase transformations for formation of alternating region with different crystalline structures playing role of thermal cells connected in series in thermal battery. For this purpose thermocouple wire produced from polymorphic iron-and-nickel alloy is transferred to single-phase state in advance, is wound on frame, thermal insulation is laid on one half of frame, alternating sections with different phase composition are formed by thermal treatment of the other half. Thermal treatment is conducted up to temperature of termination of phase transformation. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture, improved reliability of energy conversion. 4 cl, 3 dwg
