FIELD: nondestructive inspections. SUBSTANCE: cylindrical parts are sounded out by surface wave pulses applied in direction perpendicular to generating surface with ultrasonic receiving and emitting transducer placed on cylindrical surface. Signals scanning the part and echo signals coming from flaws during time spaces between sounding signal and once, twice, and three times scanned signals are recorded. Amplitudes of echo signals and twice scanned signal are measured and maximum of echo signal amplitudes is selected; this amplitude to twice scanned signal amplitude ratio is calculated. Flaw is recognized by ratio of these amplitudes exceeding threshold value preset for rhis type of tested parts. EFFECT: improved sensitivity and validity of test results.
