FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has cylinder 1, piston 2 mounted inside the cylinder for permitting reciprocation, head 3 of cylinder 1 provided with fuel nozzle 4, delivery chamber 5 of variable volume defined by bottom 6 of piston 2 and head 3, combustion chamber 7 of constant volume having neck 8 made in bottom 6 of piston 2, and controlled valve, e.g., gate 9 positioned in head 3 coaxially to neck 8. The gate separates chambers 5,7 when piston 2 moves to the top dead center during the compression stroke and connects the chambers when piston 2 is in the vicinity of the top dead center. At the beginning of the compression stroke, a portion of air flows from delivery chamber 5 to the combustion chamber 7 through neck 8. Fuel is injected during flowing the portion of air to combustion chamber 7 with simultaneous mixing. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 cl, 3 dwg
