FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in daily assessing structure of cardiac rhythm during at least seven days, measuring amplitudes of first-order slow waves having period of 10 to 20 s and respiration waves having period of 3 to 6 s, calculating ratio between first parameter and current root-mean-square deviation of first-order slow wave amplitude. Whenever ratio between first-order slow wave amplitude and amplitude of respiration waves and/or current root-mean-square deviation of first-order slow wave amplitude relative to original level, exacerbation of cardiac ischemia should be prognosticated during 1- to 4-day period. EFFECT: disclosed method allows scaling up effectiveness of short-term prognostication of progress of chronic forms of cardiac ischemia to 74.4 %, positive result prognostication test to 65.3 % and higher accuracy of prognostication of progress of cardiac ischemia. 1 tbl
