FIELD: rolled stock production. SUBSTANCE: before rolling process rolls of a stand are being tuned with their relative adjustment in an axial direction, and each roll is being tuned for a predetermined rolling-out angle β. That procedure is being performed by simultaneous screwing of one adjusting screw and unscrewing of the other adjusting screw till a necessary value in order to provide for a cartridge with the roll a possibility of rotating over a predetermined rolling-out angle relative to trunnions. A relative axial displacement of the roll being by an order less, than a value h1, defining a difference of arrangement of the adjusting screw relative to the cartridge; that eliminates a necessity of an additional axial tuning of the roll. Upon working of the apparatus a main variable operating load is being received through the cartridge by the adjusting screws, tightening a drum with the cartridge and providing reliability and long time life service of the apparatus.
