FIELD: manufacture of turbines. SUBSTANCE: welded drum-type rotor has drum parts 1 interconnected by weld seams 5 over weld bridges "B" with sections "a" which have disks 2 or grooves 3 for securing working blades 4 and inter-blade bridges "b". Inner bore of sections "B" and adjacent sections "a" has diameter which exceeds diameter of inner bore of inter-blade bridges "b", for example, due to circular projections 6 on sections "b" or due to inner cut 7 on sections "a" and "B". During rotation of rotor, projections 6 hold inside sections "a" in radial direction only on one side. Due to difference in radial displacement, sections "a", for example with disks 2 turn in plane of axis of rotation of rotor bending the welded bridge "B" with its convexity away from axis of rotation of rotor, thus converting the tensile forces in root 8 of weld seams 5 into compressive forces. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of rotor through converting tensile axial stresses arising due to centrifugal forces in weld root into compressive stresses. 2 dwg
